Heather Collins is an expert in property management accounting, administration and information technology. She has over sixteen years’ experience in a diverse range of property management disciplines, including Commercial, Residential and Community Association management. Heather leads the accounting and administrative teams and is responsible for corporate operations and systems administration.
Heather’s responsibilities include reviewing and validating financial statements for clients; managing advanced, complex, and long-term accounting issues such as obtaining and managing loans for Associations including setting up amortization schedules; analyzing and forecasting large construction project scope, budgets, and variances based on approved scope; and, meetings with owners and Board Members to review and clarify accounting concerns. Heather’s experience also encompasses detailed analysis of bank loans, construction projects, special assessments and supplemental budgets, including writing and presenting materials relating to these complex accounting issues.
Heather’s prior professional experience includes over nine years with a property management company as Manager of Accounting & Administration/IT managing a team of 15 employees. Additionally, Heather worked for more than seven years for the world’s largest provider of shared office space. Her tenure included roles as Operations Manager, Center Manager, and finally Double Center General Manager, in which she had responsibility for two distinctly different business centers.
Heather was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and has lived in two foreign countries and five different states. She moved to the Seattle area in 1995. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Business Management at the University of Phoenix. Heather spends her free time with her four dogs, enjoys reading, and loves traveling to new destinations.
Heather’s responsibilities with EM&C include but are not limited to:
- Oversee daily operations of the accounting and administration teams, working closely with each team member to ensure quality performance
- Train and mentor the accounting and administration teams
- Work with Managing Members to establish company policies and procedures
- Maintain corporate books and records
- Coordinate business partnerships
- Oversee corporate and remote office operations
